The route
The start and finish of the 24-hour Montello Mauro Marcato Memorial is at the highest point of these hills, in Santa Maria della Vittoria (364 meters above sea level). From this point it goes down the main road on the back of Montello (SP144) toward Montebelluno and, after a series of curves and counter-curves (for a total of about 4 km), at the height of “presa” 21, it turns right on Via Generale Gandolfo, where a false plain for about 1.5 km becomes a downward slope again for another 1.5 km until reaching Ciano and the Panoramica del Montello (SP77), right in front of the Alpine foothills in the Treviso region and the Piave River.
For over 10 km it continues along the Panoramica toward Nervesa della Battaglia on a mixed course that is straight, with slight uphill climbs and gentle downhill slopes. In the final descent that leads to Nervesa, it turns right on Via Armando Diaz and, after a little while, right again on Via Ossario (SP144). Leaving the Panoramica behind, it starts to climb the Dorsale, next to the Ossario. Here the steepest slope is encountered (10-11%, but only for 200 m) and it continues to gently climb with very short sections of false plains or slight downhill slopes until reaching (after another steep part) the motor cross track of Giavera Montello. Turning right the climb continues along modest slopes, toward Santa Maria della Vittoria. The complete course is 33.5 km with a total climb of 460 m and total descent of 464 m.
